Welcome to the on-line home of the Vermont Council of Developmental and Mental Health Services. The sixteen community-based members of the Council are private, not-for-profit providers of developmental and behavioral health-care services.
For more than a quarter of a century, the Council has supported its members in their work of helping Vermonters get ahead, and stay ahead, of the multiple demands of modern life. Together, we will continue helping the people of our state live healthier, safer, more satisfying lives.
Our Mission
The Vermont Council of Developmental and Mental Health Services promotes a statewide, non-profit system of developmental and behavioral health care for people with developmental disabilities; serious and persistent mental illness; substance abuse; and children experiencing severe emotional disturbance, as well as their families. The Council, through its member agencies, works toward ensuring access to a high-quality continuum of health care and support services in every community throughout the state.
The Council also strives to improve the health and safety of our communities through socially responsible alliances and partnerships, information sharing, education and advocacy at the national, state, and local levels.
